The data we keep
- Your WhatsApp number and your profile name, to answer you and greet you.
- Your city, your mosque and your last shared location, only if you provide them, to calculate your prayer times and find nearby mosques.
- Your prayer alert choices, if you sign up for them.
- For mosque administrators: the announcements and information they publish.
What we do not keep
The content of your messages is never saved. We only keep the type of request (prayer times, announcements…) and the date, linked to an anonymous fingerprint of your number, to measure how the service is used. For statistics by country and quality monitoring, the team never sees your full number: only the country code and the last digits.
On the website, we count visits anonymously: the number of pages viewed and visitors per day, without tracking cookies and without recording your address.
Why
Solely to run Dalil: answering your requests, sending you the alerts you chose, publishing mosque announcements. No advertising, no resale, no profiling.
With whom
- Meta (WhatsApp), which routes the messages.
- Google Places and OpenStreetMap, queried with a location or neighbourhood name to find mosques, without your number.
- An artificial intelligence provider based in the United States reads texts intended for publication, in order to filter out offensive remarks and messages that Dalil does not recognize on its own, to understand their meaning and respond with sources. These messages are not stored by Dalil, and this provider does not use them to train its models.
How long
As long as you use Dalil. Write stop and all your personal data is deleted immediately. Anonymous statistics may be kept.
Your rights
In accordance with Ivorian law no. 2013-450 on the protection of personal data, you can access your data, correct it or delete it by writing aide to Dalil on WhatsApp. You can also contact the ARTCI.
